Ps 17 4 As for the deeds of men-
by the word of your lips
I have kept myself
from the ways of the violent.
The Psalmist is not really talking about God searching him in a moral way. Every person that has ever been born has been controlled by the decrees of God. There is no man who controls himself. Every action is under the control of God. God does whatever pleases Him. The Psalmist is saying that God has ordered his steps in the way of innocence because God has given the Psalmist the blessing. A person who receives salvation walks in the way of blessing. The elect are brought into a kingdom that is perfectly described. God has given us the blessed words of life and caused us to walk in compliance with His word. We are no longer considered rebellious. Because rebellion pre supposes that you are in a relationship where you are scrutinized.
We find that some of the elect can act as a proud and disobedient man. But they can never be intrinsically disobedient. The kingdom of God is to seek peace. God cannot be forced or coerced into changing or violating His nature. When we say that God is in absolute control we are acknowledging that God is the one who controls the language of blessing and cursing. God always judges absolutely. His kingdom cannot be violently destroyed. All the men who are cursed dash themselves against the judgement of God with many wounds by their own rebellion. The problem for the elect is not one of breaking Gods law but its the immature belief that they is able. Because God has opposed the violence of wicked men in the full effect of the curse. So Gods people enjoy the absolute voice of protection as the curse becomes swift to silence the wicked.
This is the context of saying "by the words of Your lips, I have kept myself from the way of the violent". In other words , violent men take the vengeance upon themselves because they think that they are in control of the curse. God says this is why they curse from their hearts. Because their communication is to dethrone and kill God. To be under this power is to speak in a way whether it is passive or aggressive to destroy God and His elect. But to speak under the control of the Spirit and the word is to speak peace." By the word of YOUR MOUTH I have kept myself from the way of the violent".

Ps 9 4 For you have upheld my right and my cause;
you have sat on your throne, judging righteously."

When we are saved we are implanted with Gods word. We are given new desires. These desires are Gods desires. We become Gods kingdom. This means that even tho we are corrupted yet God looks on us as fulfilling His law. This means that God treats us as being frustrated in our attempt to meet the requirements of the law. This is why the Psalms express the frustration and complaints of Gods elect. God allows us to approach Him as if we are too weak to accomplish what He has commanded of us. I mean that instead of being motivated by the guilt of sin we are able to use sin as something that is foreign in us that makes us frustrated. The Psalmist complains about his suffering by appealing to God on the basis of his new desire. In other words instead of us finding satisfaction in the communication of our old relationship to the law , we are able to argue in the basis of our new image in Christ.

We now can start with Gods covenant promises as the basis of our frustration coming together with our cause. God judges righteously by upholding our cause. Even tho we do not understand the full potential we have or the success of our cause yet in desiring the total destruction of our opposition we find our cause coming together with His salvation. 6 Endless ruin has overtaken the enemy,you have uprooted their cities;
even the memory of them has perished." Covenant desires are always successful while the desires of the wicked will perish.

Even tho we experience frustration Gods salvation has been successful throughout time because He pronounces death upon the wicked. We experience a new conversion by pronouncing the curse in our personal anger. God takes our anger and consumes it in His righteous indignation. We become confident when we speak to God in the language of the law, covenants, curses etc. This confidence is what the Psalmist describes as praise to God. Its not our praise but its Gods pleasure in hearing His word. This is described as "10 Those who know your name will trust in you,
for you, LORD , have never forsaken those who seek you." In other words those who know your covenants, laws decrees etc as pronouncements will know your name. The name is the success of Gods kingdom.

We have the freedom to argue with the Psalmist complaints without a perfect application. So God knows our hearts . This means that He blesses the attempt rather than holding us to the perfect standard. God loves the confidence of His elect as if they were throwing something against the wall that will stick. In other words God likes for us to expend our energy in seeking Him. You expend your energy and God will double His power in you. 11 Sing praises to the LORD , enthroned in Zion;
proclaim among the nations what he has done." The Psalmist rises to call all of Israel to praise the Lord..in other words He is consumed with Gods energy. We must understand that God has made us like Himself and in coming to Him face to face , He is giving us the attention as if we met Him through His word as an equal in Christ.
