Ps 103 1 Praise the LORD , O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the LORD , O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits-
When we are saved we are implanted with Gods law. The Psalmist is teaching that God has set up His kingdom in the Psalmist inmost being. From this kingdom the Psalmist experiences his success in ruling over Israel. This kingdom cannot be thwarted because everything that we have is gifted to us by our Heavenly Father. The Psalmist is not only saying that he now has the authority to rule over the earth but this holiness is displayed in a Father -Son relationship. In other words God gifted us with everything in order to treat us as sons and not slaves.
We experience our Father as holy because He takes care of all of our needs ,...both physical and spiritual. He forgives all of our sins by not counting them against us. He not only forgives our sins but He recreates our sinful past so that as we move into the future they are as cast into seas and taken out to the deep ocean by the currents. He heals all of our diseases because our physical suffering is the reason that we feel the sting of our sin. So God numbs the physical pain so that we can find rest from our sin. He shows His compassion for us by giving us a way to curse the destruction of the curse. When we suffer we are able to complain to Him as if we were totally innocent of all corruption. He draws us to Himself by enjoying us being bold by giving us complaints and curses like soldier wrestling to push the destruction under our feet.
God is not only a Father in identifying with us as His sons but He is the judge of all the earth. Just as God established the success of the nation of Israel in the sojourn under Moses, so He establishes us as a governing authority. We have eternal powers at our request. God loves us eternally. God acts on our behalf by a covenant He upholds by swearing to His own hurt. Gods demands of us are fulfilled by His faithfulness to perform all that He has promised to us. When the Psalmist had the laws, decrees, covenants, curses and promises on his lips , he was acting as a son who enjoyed all of the benefits that Christ obtained in His exaltation. The basis of the elects confidence that these pronouncements are yea and amen is solely upon Gods unfailing love.The special love of our Father for His sons. We not only experience Gods compassionate love that meets our emotional needs but we act in His kingdom as kings and priest of the most high. We are royalty.
We are able to crush our opposition by the simple pronouncement of increasing weakness of our opposition like the grass that withers away. The kingdom of man is being reduced to powerlessness so that the kingdom of God will rule over all things. We rule from one generation to another by enjoying Gods benefits that are too much for us to obtain in their fullness that press upon us moment by moment to grow in the pronouncements and the freedom of enjoying the royalty that He has pronounced upon us in need to get as close as we can to the eternal kingdom as much as we can in this time.
