138 2 I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word."
Gods love is based upon His name. His faithfulness is based upon His covenant word. The name and the word are exalted above all things. Gods name is the authority and success of His kingdom upon this earth. It is enforced by His law, decree, statutes, promises and curses. God planned all governments , meta physical and physical universe before the foundation of the world. He orders the world according to His all of the gifts above. The ot calls this the covenant law. The Psalmist is saying that when he meditates on with the gifts He experiences Gods love.
Gods love is based upon the authority of this kingdom speech. He loves according to His word because He has given us the outline of His secret counsel. In other words He speaks everything into existence which is both revealed and mysterious. But it is according to these gifts. His love is based upon these gifts which are both understandable and beyond our understanding. He is saying that there is a transference of illumination in the meditation as he expresses his praise. In other words Gods love only works according to His law, covenants, statutes curses and promises. There is no such thing as a system of love outside of these gifts.
The words in the Psalms are Gods expression of His kingly authority that man exercises over creation. Man has been given the ability to unite his desires with God so that he has the potential to have all of his desires fulfilled in pronouncing these gifts. No matter if a man suffers against the success of his opposition yet we all live in our own minds. Every body lives according to their view of the world and not the absolute view that God has. Our view is very important because these gifts bring the future eternal reality into the present. We have level of enjoyment of Gods creation and His sovereignty. These gifts make the temporal effects of Gods creation vibrant and eternal. We speak Gods law in the way that He judges in final judgement. In this sense the future is coming into the present and the present is experiencing eternity.
We can find freedom in Gods absolute pronouncements of His gifts. The Praise of the Psalmist is expressed in being over come by mystery. Mystery is the feeling that everything is put in order and we are united to Gods purposes. This unity is Gods love of faithfulness and justice. It is Gods faithfulness because we have placed all of our trust in the pronouncements upon God. And its justice because we have found solace in Gods future curse and blessing. We are mysteriously justified. This disposition gives us the most success in creating our future on this earth.
