Ps 62 9 Lowborn men are but a breath,
the highborn are but a lie;
if weighed on a balance, they are nothing;
together they are only a breath.
10 Do not trust in extortion
or take pride in stolen goods;
though your riches increase,
do not set your heart on them.

God is the only Being who has the authority and power to give value to His creation. God has decreed whatsoever comes to pass. When we approach God in pronouncing the Psalms we are approaching a Person who has the power and authority to completely unify our lives whenever He decides. God has the authority to speak a word and meet all of our needs. He can look on us with favor and bless us beyond our ability to understand. So we are approaching a God who controls all things according to His pleasure.

The Psalmist teaches that the purpose of pronouncing is so that God will speak the word of salvation.God has gifted us with His word in order to move Him to act. God does not need His word. The pronouncements are given to us so that we might plead with God for favor or grace. The pronouncements are the perfect self talk of Christ. Not only do they preach the holistic message that addresses our mental and emotional needs but they move God to respond with blessing. We speak the law as a king decrees in order to establish his authority over the nation. We speak the curses in order to build a strong defense against the opposition. We speak the decrees in order to enforce a positive outlook on our future. We speak the covenants in order to hold God to His covenant promises. We speak the statutes to constrain us by enjoying Gods rest so that we build a strong unity in our circumstances. We plead the promises in order to move God to give us what we ask. When we approach God according to these gifts He is moved by the logic of our cries. He loves to respond to what pleases Him. Because these gifts are the natural cries of our hearts, we cannot grow tired of using them. But rather we are being converted to enjoy cheering God and praising Him alone.

All men are dependent upon God alone to know their value. True value is the perfect work of the law. In order to create value every man must not only obey the law completely but they cannot have any corruption. The weakness of corruption devalues Gods law. The perfect law of relationships brings unity in perfect partners establishing value in others. When man is corrupted he is guilty of putting a stumbling block in the way of others. This is why the Psalmist says that the low born are a breath, the highborn are a lie. God is the only one who establishes the blessing and the cursing in recreating all value. Because we not only dependent upon God for blessing but also for the ability to act in order to be rewarded. We depend upon God as we recreate the value of all things by pronouncing the gifts that please God.    8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
